Walt's Trooper Factory has a great deal of respect for the military and law enforcement. Most of us have served in the military and deployed overseas, and we continue to deal with everything that comes after. Two close friends of the shop - Sebastian and Adam - continue to serve as police officers in New York City and Yale University respectively. It's because of this background that the deaths of military personnel and police officers really hits home. On July 5th 2017 NYPD Police Officer Miosotis Familia was sitting in a command vehicle when she was assassinated by a deranged gunman, leaving behind three grieving children. It was a tragedy close to home, and we wanted to do something to help her family and other families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
In August Walt's Trooper Factory, with cooperation from the Mos Eisley Police Department (MEPD), raised $3000 to be donated to the NYC Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Widows & Children's Fund by raffling off a complete Sand Trooper costume. We also began laying the groundwork for an ongoing charity project named The Blue Brotherhood. Through the sale of patches, poker chips, stickers, and other merchandise we will continue to raise money for the families of fallen or gravely injured law enforcement officers. In addition to the money raised, we hope people will display them with pride to show support for your local police.
Please join us in supporting our police officers - especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe. Thanks to Juan Jose Matamoros for the wonderful artwork!
