On January 30th 2018, members of the Midsouth Garrison of the 501st Legion visited Bruce Dodd at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Bruce, like a lot of other kids his age, is absolutely obsessed with Star Wars. Much to his delight, waiting for him after his final course of daily radiation treatments was none other than Darth Vader flanked by a host of Stormtroopers and other Imperials. They escorted him to a party in his honor, and presented him with his very own children's sized Stormtrooper helmet courtesy of Walt's Trooper Factory.

Unfortunately there is no cure for Diffuse Instrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), but his parents remain undeterred. “We’re going to leave no stone unturned to get Bruce the best treatment we can,” said Robin Dodd, Bruce's father. “Before this happened we considered ourselves private people, but we want to raise awareness for this rare and mostly unknown disease that affects young kids and kills 100 percent of the time.”

Bruce has a long road ahead of him, but he knows no matter what happens, he has the support of his family, his medical staff, and all of us at Walt's Trooper Factory and the 501st Legion. For the full article, please follow the links below.
